Meditation vs. Mindfulness 

Most meditation practices start by finding a quiet spot to sit and observing your breath. But mindfulness is more than that. It’s about cultivating a greater sense of awareness and compassion for yourself. 

Meditation

Meditation is about creating greater awareness, and getting a healthy sense of perspective. It’s not about shutting off your thoughts and feelings, but about learning to observe them without judgment. Eventually, you’ll be able to understand them (and yourself) better. Learning to meditate is like learning any other skill; it takes time and practice. Don’t get discouraged when it wanders. You’re doing great by just showing up. 

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is about being able to stay in the present moment, to be fully engaged in the here and now. When we’re mindful, we’re paying attention to our surroundings, sounds, the way our body feels, and our breathing. Through opening our senses, mindfulness aims to bring original thinking to our present experience.
